with Nightingale Vocal Ensemble

"Improvisation is just composition sped up," according to Wayne Shorter. An integral part of Nightingale's identity has been the performing of new works by composers within the ensemble. Now, we speed up that process and explore the unlimited possibility of completely improvised a cappella music. Featuring contributions from our wider community of poets and visual artists, Nightingale's first professionally recorded studio album will probe the experimental frontier of vocal ensemble music-making.
